The work

Five kinds of jobs. Prices are starting points for a straightforward version of the work — odd rooms and old houses usually cost more, and we say so before you hire us.

Light oak built-in shelves and cabinets displaying speckled ceramic bowls, lidded jars, and small potted plants.
Built-ins and cabinet work, fitted and finished in the shop.

01

Custom built-ins and shelving

from $1,200

Bookcases, window seats, and wall-to-wall shelving, scribed to your floor and finished to sit with the rest of the house.

02

Kitchen cabinet installs

from $3,500

Stock and semi-custom kitchens, set level, with fillers, end panels, and hardware lined up so every door closes the same way.

03

Decks and porches

from $4,000

New decks and porches, and stair and rail rebuilds when the old ones have given up. Framed for weather, with treads that show the grain.

Wooden deck stairs with railings and newel posts, leading up to an outdoor table under green trees.
Stairs, rails, and the walking surface — the parts you touch.

04

Trim and crown molding

from $8 a foot

Baseboard, door casing, and crown, coped at the inside corners and scribed where the plaster isn’t straight. Priced by the foot, so one room is a fair place to start.

05

Repairs and small jobs

from $150

A door that sticks, a rail that split, a shelf that left the wall. Bring it to the shop or have us come out.

Hand-cut dovetail joint joining dark walnut to pale oak, with a chisel and wood shavings on the bench.
Joints cut to fit, the same care we put into visible trim.
A carpenter’s hands pushing a metal hand plane across a board, with curled wood shavings lifting off the surface.
Hand planing an edge before it leaves the bench.

At the bench

A lot of the job never shows up in a photo of the finished room. Edges get planed, joints get fitted, and the finish goes on before anything is loaded in the truck. That is what “built to last” means here: wood that was actually finished, not just fastened in place.
